History of the Club
Since 1946, Northwood Club has brought together championship golf, family traditions, hospitality and recreation in the heart of Dallas.
1946
Northwood Club opens in Dallas.
1952
Northwood hosts the U.S. Open Championship.
2015
The course joins the Texas Registry of Historic Courses.
2017
The restored course and four-hole short course open.
Club Heritage
Northwood has served generations of members as a place to compete, dine, celebrate and build lasting friendships. While golf remains central to its identity, the Club’s broader legacy is defined by its families, traditions and sense of community.
Championship Course
1952 U.S. Open
Originally designed by Bill Diddel, Northwood became the youngest course to host the U.S. Open when Julius Boros defeated a field that included Ben Hogan.
Historic Recognition
In 2015, the Texas Golf Hall of Fame added Northwood to the Texas Registry of Historic Courses.
Course Restoration
Architect Tripp Davis restored the course in 2017, renewing its bunkers, greens and tees while preserving original Diddel characteristics.
Short Course
The four-hole short course offers a welcoming setting for beginners, families and players sharpening their short games.
